Moradabad, July 06 (ANI): Villagers in Moradabad district on Sunday fled their homes fearing for their lives in wake of violent clashes. Tension is prevailing in Kanth village after BJP workers clashed with police and Samajwadi Party members over removal of a loudspeaker from a temple by the administration decision. The detention of BJP leaders, workers and supporters while on their way to attend a huge religious gathering, 'Mahapanchayat', in Moradabad to protest the decision, led to skirmish with police and the SP workers. A District Magistrate and police officials were injured in stone-pelting by protesters. Police resorted to rounds of firing to control the unruly mob. New Delhi, July, 05 (ANI): Situation in Moradabad is coming back to normal a day after clashes between two communities broke out over the installation of loudspeakers near a religious place. Five BJP leaders, including Muzaffarnagar riot-accused Sangeet Som and four MPs, were detained near Morababad after they tried to defy a ban on the party from holding a 'mahapanchayat' in Kanth area. Protesters blocked train lines and resorted to stone-pelting to lodge their protest. The police had to resort to tear gas shelling to dispel the crowd. Rail traffic route was also disturbed due to the agitation. The BJP leaders were later released on the condition that they will stay away from the area and not create any more disturbances. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh BJP constituted a five-member committee of its MLAs for a detailed probe into the violence and detention of its legislators in Moradabad district. Jul 5, 2014

Moradabad, July 05 (ANI): In what turned out to be an ugly result of detention of the BJP leaders marching to attend a _mahapanchayat_ near Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh, Moradabad District Magistrate Chandrakant, Senior Superintendent of Police Dharam Veer, Circle Officer Archana and four policemen were injured in heavy stone-throwing by the protesters. The clash began after the group was stopped from attending the _mahapanchayat_ which was reportedly to incite communal feelings. Indian company builds Afghanistan parliament building to boost bilateral ties

Kabul, June 27 (ANI): A team of Indian engineers and supervisors are working diligently to build Afghanistan parliament building in Kabul city in a bid to boost bilateral ties between the two countries. The team comprising 50 workers from different states of India said they were facing no problems and added that Afghanistan has always been friendly towards Indians.The team members said people in Afghanistan were treating them well and they felt secure in the nation. The parliament building will be the most prominent symbol of Indian efforts to help Afghanistan. Its foundation stone was laid by the last king of Afghanistan, Mohammed Zahir Shah, in presence of President Hamid Karzai and then Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in 2005.
