New Delhi, Feb 26 (ANI): Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu on Thursday said that Foreign Rail Technology Cooperation Scheme would be launched to help in technology upgradation. Presenting the Railway Budget for fiscal 2015-16 in Parliament, Prabhu stressed on the need to decentralise, deregulate and delegate to make freight business simpler. No new trains were, however, announced this year in the rail budget. There was no increase in railway passenger fares either. The Railways Minister further said that mobile phone charging facilities would be provided in general class coaches and the number of charging facilities would be increased in sleeper class coaches. BJP to hold parliamentary meet over Land Acquisition Ordinance

New Delhi, Feb 24 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will hold a parliamentary board meeting for the second time on Tuesday (February 24) over the land acquisition ordinance. The first meeting earlier in the day, before the parliament session began, was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the presence of veteran BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani. Minister of State for parliamentary affairs, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, told media the leaders of BJP and National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will meet in the evening to deliberate on the issues on how to make the land acquisition bill more effective for the farmers. Earlier in the day the government introduced in the lower house of the parliament the controversial Land Acquisition Amendment Bill 2015 amid vociferous protests by the opposition. The government said it will hold discussions one more time to bring all parties on board with its plan. Thailand's Attorney General files charges against former PM Yingluck over rice subsidy scheme

Bangkok, Feb 19 (ANI): Thailand's attorney general filed charges against Former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Thursday over a bungled rice subsidy scheme. The former Premier in indicted in the case that could see her jailed for up to a decade if found guilty. However, Shinawatra denies charges. The Supreme Court will decide whether or not to accept the case on March 19.
