Nirmala Sitharaman to raise trade gap issue with Chinese counterpart

Beijing, June 30 (ANI): Minister of State for Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Nirmala Sitharaman said that she would raise trade gap issue with her Chinese counterpart in a scheduled meeting, during which she is expected to pitch for big investments like Chinese industrial parks. Sitharaman is accompanying Vice President Hamid Ansari to Beijing on a five day long trip to boost bilateral ties and also participate in a trilateral summit. Vice President Hamid Ansari visits Great Wall of China

Beijing, June 28 (ANI): On his third day in Beijing, India's Vice President Hamid Ansari visited the Great Wall of China, along with Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Nirmala Sitharaman and other Indian officials. Ansari, who is on a five-day visit to Beijing, will also participate in a trilateral summit with host China and Myanmar on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Panchsheel agreement. This is the first visit of an Indian leader to China after Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed office last month. While addressing media onboard, Ansari had said that the central government was concerned over widening trade imbalance with China, even as trade between two south Asian neighbours is increasing.
