Chennai building collapse death toll reaches 29, rescue operation intensifies

Chennai, July 1 (ANI): Rescuers on Tuesday intensified search operation and recovered a total of 29 bodies from the debris of an 11-storey under-construction building that collapsed in Chennai on Saturday. According to reports 26 persons have been taken out alive from the debris. Improved technologies like drones have been deployed for tracing the bodies of the trapped workers. On Sunday Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu had announced an ex-gratia of rupees 500,000 each to the family of workers from his province who were killed in the mishap. Jul 1, 2014

New Delhi, July 1 (ANI): Union Minister for Roads and Highways Nitin Gadkari has denied reports of him having any commercial interest in the e-rickshaw manufacturing sector. Gadkari's office claimed that the minister has no links with the Purti Group Technologies which manufactured e-rickshaw.
