IAF set to induce indigenously-developed Light Combat Aircraft Tejas

Hyderabad, Dec 14 (ANI): Indian Air Force set to induce indigenously-developed Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas next month, after achieving its first Initial Operational Clearance (IOC) later this month. Air Force Chief, N.A.K. Browne, said that the '4plus generation' LCA designated as 'Tejas', is all set to be inducted in the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the project for Mark II, designed to be more powerful and capable, will commence soon. After long delays and several cost overruns, Tejas, which will replace aged fighter aircraft MIG 21, will be inducted on December 20 in the IT hub Bangalore by Defence Minister, A.K. Antony. While attending a Combined Graduation Parade of Air Force Academy in Hyderabad on Saturday, Air Chief N.A.K. Browne, told mediapersons that 40 aircrafts of Mark I will be inducted by the IAF. New Delhi, Dec 12 (ANI): Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi had a narrow escape at Indira Gandhi International airport while returning from Rae Bareli in his private jet. Another aircraft was still on the runway on which his private business jet was to land. However, luckily just when Rahul's Cessna Citation was about to land, the airport traffic control alerted Rahul's pilot to abort the landing. Manipur hosts large delegation from Myanmar to strengthen cultural ties

Imphal, Dec 06 (ANI): On Nov. 21, the first international flight from Myanmar landed at Tulihal International Airport in Imphal. The Golden Myanmar Airlines aircraft arrived with over 100 passengers to take part in the annual Sangai Festival. The delegation, including the Chief Minister of Mandalay region, U Ye Mint, the Chief Minister of Sagaing Region, U Thar Aye, several Meitei Diaspora and media persons were warmly received by Manipur Chief Minister O.Ibobi Singh. Manipur is hopeful of turning a significant regional hub for international flights to Southeast Asian countries, thereby promoting trade, tourism, business and investment. A business conclave was also organised to explore trade and investment opportunities between Manipur and Myanmar. The Myanmar delegation interacted with Manipuri traders and discussed the issues concerning border trade.
