Englands east coast avoids heavy flooding in storm night

Towns on the east coast of England have avoided heavy flooding. A change in wind direction stopped a storm surge before high tide. But waterfronts in Scarborough and in other towns were flooded by high waves. 5,000 homes in Great Yarmouth and several other areas had been evacuated as a precaution. Russia has reacted negatively to the US deployment of troops in Europe. The troops from the Third Armor Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, based in Fort Carson, Colorado, US, along with hundreds of armoured vehicles and tanks, were moved from the US to Germany last week for transit by rail and road to Poland and elsewhere in eastern Europe.
