BSF detains nine Bangladeshis at international border

South Dinajpur, Oct 11 (ANI): India's paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) detained nine Bangladeshi nationals on Saturday near the Indo-Bangladesh international border in a bid to check infiltration. BSF has tightened security in areas bordering Bangladesh in wake of bomb blast in Burdwan district in West Bengal. Two women have been arrested in connection with the explosion that left two suspected militants dead on Sunday. Police is probing the possible involvement of militant outfits like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Harkat-ul Jihad al-Islami in the blast. BSF Commandant Sangram Bisal said that due to close vigilance after the blast in Burdwan they arrested the Bangladeshi nationals who were crossing the hills. Oct 11, 2014

London, Oct 10 (ANI): After winning the Nobel Peace Prize 2014, Pakistani Children's rights activists Malala Yousafzai said that she was honoured to receive such a pretigious award. Yousafzai said that it was an honour to share the award with Indian Children's rights advocate Kailash Satyarthi and that this gives a message of love between India and Pakistan. She said that she had a word with Satyarthi and that both advocates for peace along Indo-Pak border. Yousafzai also invited Indian PM Narendra Modi and his Pakistan counterpart Nawaz Sharif when the two receives the award in December. She also said that the award is not just a medal, but an encouragement to work for a greater cause. She said that she had two choices- to speak and get killed or not to speak and get killed- and she chose the latter for good of all. Oct 11, 2014

Villagers along Indo-Pak border live under fear as Pak continues fire killing and injuring civilians

Akhnoor/ Flora/ New Delhi, Oct 07 (ANI): Indian and Pakistani forces exchanged fire in the disputed Kashmir region on Tuesday and four Indian civilians were wounded, a day after the highest civilian death toll in a single day from their cross-border conflict in more than a decade. Director General of paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF), DK Pathak said that Pakistan forces fired at 40 Indian army posts early on Tuesday. The two sides have been trading fire and counter-accusations since the violence erupted last week. Meanwhile, people living along the de-facto border were living in fear due to continuous firing. Pakistan's foreign ministry said it had lodged a protest with Indian diplomats over the killings of its civilians.
