Narmada, Nov 01 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel laid foundation stone of the Statue of Unity - the world's tallest statue of Iron man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The statue is a part of an ambitious project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated to his political idol. Patel, marking the 139th birth anniversary Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, laid the foundation of "Statue of Unity" near River Narmada in the state. Patel performed religious rituals before laying the foundation of the ambitious project. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was the deputy of first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru as well as his home minister, but was often at odds with him. Nov 1, 2014

New Delhi, Oct 31 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid floral tributes at the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary in Parliament. PM Modi was accompanied by Defence Minister Arun Jaitley, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu, BJP senior leader LK Advani, Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan and others. The leaders offered rose petals in front of a huge portrait of Sardar Patel in Parliament House. BJP hails Modi's 'Run For Unity' campaign on Sardar Patel's birthday

New Delhi, Oct 31 (ANI): The BJP on Friday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking the initiative to celebrate Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary by organizing the 'Run For Unity' campaign. Prime Minister Modi on Friday flagged off the campaign at Rajpath. Modi earlier arrived at Patel Chowk in the heart of Delhi, where he paid floral tributes to Patel on his 139th birth anniversary. Modi then administered Unity pledge to thousands of participants present at Rajpath addressing the participants of 'Run for Unity'. Maharashtra CM designate Fadnavis participates in 'Run for Unity' event
