Security forces arrest two hardcore rebels in Jharkhand

Gumla, Jan 22 (ANI): Security forces arrested two hardcore Maoists in a major offensive against rebels in Jharkhand, a senior police official said. Several arms, bullets and various mobile phones were recovered from their hideout. Meanwhile, a security personnel allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Gumla district. The deceased security personnel was identified as Ashish Thapa. It was not immediately known what caused Thapa to commit suicide. Police have found no suicide note. Jan 22, 2015

Latur, Jan 16 (ANI): In a shocking incident of moral policing, a young couple was beaten brutally by Ganimi Kawa organisation in a park after being spotted by the group in Latur district of Maharashtra. According to reports, the city police has taken the matter into consideration and registered a case against 4 people of the organisation including Balaji Godse, the head of the group. Ganimi Kawa is a rural-based organisation which involves in moral policing. Local police has registered a case against the accused. New Delhi/ Kolkata, Jan 13 (ANI): Political leaders on Tuesday condemned TMC leader Swapan Debnath after he said that left party women leaders tear their own blouses and claim assault. While addressing Trinamool supporters, Debnath said that the women activists of Left party often stoop to such a low level that they tear their own blouses and claim being assaulted. Debnath added that when these activists quarrel with their husbands and are attacked, they don't blame them, but instead frame Trinamool members. CPI (M) and BJP leaders condemned the statement and said that this comes under the shelter of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and also demanded action against the leader. Jan 13, 2015
