Who is Kimmie Taylor? The first British woman to join the fight against Isis

Kimberley Taylor is believed to be the first British woman to be on the front line fighting against the Islamic State (Isis) in Syria. The Syrian Kurds began their fight for self-determination in 2011, inspired by the Arab Spring and by the ideology of Abdullah Ă–calan, the imprisoned leader of the Kurdistan Workers party (PKK), which is listed as a terrorist organisation in Turkey. Red Cross Director-General says killing of staff seems impossible

At least six workers for the International Committee for the Red Cross (ICRC) have been killed by the Islamic State (Isis) in northern Afghanistan on 8 February. Reportedly the Red Cross workers were in a convoy carrying supplies to areas hit by avalanches when they were attacked by the gunmen. A search operation has been launched to find two missing Red Cross that have gone missing since the attack. Feb 8, 2017
