New Delhi, Oct 15 (ANI): After a fresh FIR was filed by the CBI against the Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, KM Birla and former coal secretary PC Parekh, the BJP stated that the investigation by the CBI is just a show off as the investigating agency is being used by the Congress. BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the actual culprits are still safe.

Coal scam: CBI names KM Birla, ex-Coal Secretary in fresh FIR

New Delhi, Oct 15 (ANI): In another high profile chargesheet in the coal scam, the CBI has registered a case against Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, KM Birla. Aluminum maker Hindalco, which Mr Birla promotes, has also been named in the fresh FIR filed by the agency. According to reports, the FIR names Birla, Nalco, Hindalco and former coal secretary PC Parekh. The charges in the FIR reportedly pertain to alleged forgery and financial misrepresentation. The investigating agency is conducting raids at the Hyderabad, Mumbai and Kolkata offices of Hindalco. The CBI is under pressure from the Supreme Court to hasten its investigation into how and why coal fields were allocated to private players without a transparent bidding process.
