Shutdown in Kashmir to protest youth killing in police firing

Srinagar, June 24 (ANI): A complete shutdown is being observed across the valley after the killing of a youth yesterday in Sopore during police firing on protesters. Arshad Ahmad Shah of Seer Jagir in Sopore succumbed to his injuries when security forces fired some shots at protesters. A shutdown call has been given by Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani which is being supported by all other separatists groups. All shops, business establishments, schools, colleges and government offices have been closed and public transport is off the roads. Police arrest Yasin Malik in Kashmir over protest against government

Srinagar, June 23 (ANI): Police arrested Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief, Mohammad Yasin Malik in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday following a protest against the central government. Malik, had called for a shutdown in the valley to observe June 23 as 'Quit Kashmir Day'. Malik and some of his associates were arrested by police personnel as he was leading a protest march in Srinagar, while protesters shouted slogans for emancipation of Kashmir. Indians return from conflict zone of Iraq, situation worsens

New Delhi, June 23 (ANI): Indians returned home from conflict zone of Iraq on Monday, as the fighters from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) advanced to capital Baghdad, according to authorities. Many people working in Basra city of Iraq heaved a sigh of relief when they returned home safely in New Delhi. Militants from ISIL, along with other Sunni rebels, are reported to have abducted dozens of foreigners, including Indian nationals, as they swept through towns in the Tigris valley north of Baghdad in recent days. Forty Indian nationals worked for a Baghdad-based construction company, Tariq Noor Al Huda, when they were abducted in Iraq's second largest city of Mosul after it fell to Sunni Muslim rebel. On Monday, Indian national who returned from Basra city, Dharmendra Kumar Yadav, said his company made all adequate arrangements for his safe return. Lack of facilities at the waterfall tourist spot in Ganderbal district annoys the visiting tourists as they demand more facilities so that this new tourist spot is developed in a good way and attract more and more tourists. A beautiful waterfall point is situated in Ganderbal district and nowadays has become a major attraction for tourist who visits this place on way to Sonamarg.
