Health ministry signs MoU to increase AIDS awareness

New Delhi, July 24 (ANI): Health minister, Harsh Vardhan, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with minister for information and communication, Ravi Shankar Prasad, to enable advanced online services to impart education on HIV/AIDS in the country. Prasad said major steps were taken in this regard to infuse strong education and counseling services through information and technology. He said that as India is sitting at a cusp of big 'IT revolution', this step would help improve health conditions in the country through provision of online education and counseling to patients. Prasad also said the department will work to make broadband-enabled villages in India. Meanwhile, Vardhan said imparting education was the best way to control the deadly disease. Jul 24, 2014
