New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): The newly-appointed Home Secretary LC Goyal met Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday. Earlier in the day, Goyal replaced Anil Goswami as the new Home Secretary following a controversy over the arrest of a former union minister in connection with the Saradha chit-fund scam. Goswami was earlier on Wednesday was sacked from his post for allegedly interfering with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) over the arrest of Matang Sinh in connection with the Saradha scam. New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): LC Goyal has replaced Anil Goswami as the new Union Home Secretary, following a controversy over arrest of former Union Minister involved in Saradha chit fund scam. Anil Goswami, earlier on Wednesday, was sacked for allegedly interfering with the Central Bureau of Investigation over the arrest by the agency of Saradha Scam accused Matang Sinh. According to reports, Goswami had earlier in the day been summoned by the Prime Minister's Office over the issue and was invited to put forth his version. Goswami, a 1978 IAS officer, was due to retire in July after serving a two-year tenure and was the first bureaucrat from Jammu and Kashmir to rise to the post of Home Secretary. Feb 5, 2015
