At least six people killed as high-tension wire fell on bus

Auraiya, July 27 (ANI): At least six people were killed and others injured when a high-tension wire fell on a bus and it caught fire in Erwakatra area, police said. When the private bus was being reversed, it hit an electricity pole and the high-tension wire fell on it after which it caught fire. The bus was going from Chhibramau area of Kannauj district to Vidhuna district in Auraiya. The injured are admitted to the government hospitals nearby. Villagers gathered at the spot and started pelting stones on officials accusing the electricity department for lack of safety measures. Meanwhile, District Magistrate Mala Srivastava, CO Rajiv and Sub- Divisional Magistrate Ghanshyam reached the spot of the incident. Jul 27, 2014

One policeman killed, four injured in grenade attack in Sopore

Sopore, July 26 (ANI): One policeman was killed and four others were injured in a grenade attack by militants in the wee hours on Saturday in Sopore town of Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir. Deputy Inspector General (DIG), North Kashmir Ghulam Hassan said that few militants who were among the stone pelters launched a grenade attack followed by a gun battle in which one of our security personnel Mohammed Sayeed died and four other policemen got injured.
