Kashmir police fires tear gas shells on Muslims protesting over Gaza crisis

Srinagar/ New Delhi, July 29 (ANI): Security personnel fired tear gas shells at the stone-pelting protesters who took to streets in Kashmir on Tuesday against the Israeli attacks on Gaza. After offering prayers on the occasion of Eid-al-Fitr, Muslims came out in droves in Srinagar to protest against Israel. The security personnel chased and fired at the protesters. In retaliation, the protesters pelted stones at the security personnel. Meanwhile, Muslims who congregated at the New Delhi's historic mosque, Jama Masjid, also protested against Israel. International calls for a ceasefire have grown as the death toll has mounted in the worst flare-up of Israeli-Palestinian violence in almost two years, sparked by the murder of three Israeli teenagers and revenge killing of a Palestinian youth.
