Dhaka, Dec 18 (ANI): Thousands of Bangladesh’s ruling party Awami League’s supporters marched on the streets in capital Dhaka to protest a fresh transport blockade, called by opposition parties to oppose the upcoming national polls in Bangladesh. The 18-party alliance of opposition parties, led by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), had called for 72-hour blockade of roads, railways and waterways across Bangladesh starting from Tuesday. Addressing supporters, leader of the Awami League Party, Mofazzal Hossain, urged them to plead before the masses in order to secure votes in favour of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s party. Abdul Quader Mollah's execution sparks protests in Pak

Pakistan, Dec 17 (ANI): As Pakistan Islamists rallied to condemn the execution of Bangladeshi Islamist leader Abdul Quader Mollah, country’s Interior Minister expressed grief and concern over the execution of war criminal and leader of Jamaat-e-Islami. Bangladesh executed Mollah on December 13 for war crimes he committed during the 1971 war of independence from Pakistan. About two hundred activists and supporters of Islamist group Jamaat-ud-Dawa and major Islamic party Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) staged protest outside press club in Pakistan’s commercial capital Karachi. The protests were also held in the garrison city of Rawalpindi and Lahore. The demonstrators held banners and placards. The protest leaders while addressing crowd said that Mollah was hanged because of his loyalty and solidarity with Pakistan in 1971. Dhaka, Dec 16: Mostafa Hawlader, who testified against Jamaat-e-Islami leader Delawar Hossain Sayedee in war crimes trial, was brutally attacked at his house on December 8. The family of 55-year-old, who later succumbed to his injuries, held the Jamaat responsible for the "planned attack". His death was decried by the people and supporters of People’s Resurgence Platform, Gano Jagoron Manch, who held protests against the killing. Karachi, Dec 14 (ANI): Hundreds of activists and supporters of Pakistan’s Jamaat-e-Islami staged countrywide protests on Friday to condemn the execution of Bangladeshi Islamist leader Abdul Quader Mollah. Bangladesh executed Mollah on Thursday for war crimes he committed during the 1971 war of independence from Pakistan. In Pakistan’s commercial capital, Karachi, more than five hundred supporters of Jamaat-e-Islami took to streets after Friday prayers. Holding banners and party flags, they shouted slogans and held funeral prayers-in-absentia for Mollah.
