PM Modi lays foundation stone for a trade and crafts facilitation centre for weavers in Varanasi

Varanasi, Nov 7 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday laid the foundation stone for a trade and craft facilitation centre for weavers in his home constituency Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. Modi, who is on a two-day visit to the temple town Varanasi, arrived on Friday morning, where he is likely to firm up plans for its development of the city. With an aim to develop and promote handloom products of Varanasi this Trade Facilitation Centre and Crafts Museum is being established. Reportedly, the centre will be developed at the cost of rupees 500 million. Modi on the occasion said that after agriculture, it is textiles which generates maximum employment in the country and it needs technology upgradation to compete with the world. Varanasi, Nov 07 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday reached his constituency in Uttar Pradesh, Varanasi for the first time after assuming the office in New Delhi. Preparations for his arrival were started days before as people seem exciting over the awaited visit. UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will be in the city to welcome the Prime Minister. Modi is expected to adopt a village under the 'Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana'. Jayapur village, 24 kilometres away from Varanasi, hopes to be picked and is prepping to receive the prime minister, who is scheduled to make a public address there. The villagers also held prayers ahead of Modi's visit and thanked him for choosing their village. Water tight security arrangements have been made. PM Modi will be in his constituency for a little over 24 hours.
