PM Narendra Modi reaches Bhutan, receives Guard of Honour

Thimphu, June 15 (ANI): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday reached Bhutan on his first foreign visit. Modi was accompanied by Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj along with NSA Ajit Doval. Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay himself came to receive Modi at the airport. Modi also received the Guard of Honour on his arrival. He arrived at the Paro Airport from where he will be heading towards Thimphu city by road. Members of Transgender Community pledge to donate their eyes after death

Pune, June 13 (ANI): More than 100 members of transgender community in Pune city of Maharashtra set up an example for others to follow as they pledged to donate their eyes after their death. A Pune-based non-governmental organisation, Late Shankarrao Bhoi Smruti Pratishthan, has been able to encourage more than 15000 people to fill up eye donation forms in the last 15 years. A member of the transgender community, Panna Gabrel, who was present at the donation drive, said like everyone else they also have the right to contribute to this nation. The president of Bhoi foundation, Milind Bhoi, was also present at the drive. He said more than 700,000 people are visually-impaired in India and in need of an eye transplant. Jun 13, 2014
