New Delhi, Oct 23 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday condemned the previous day's shoot-out in the Canadian Parliament and the attacks on Canadian military personnel in Ottawa and Quebec respectively. "I strongly condemn the attacks on the Canadian military personnel in Quebec and Ottawa and the shooting in Canadian Parliament in Ottawa," Prime Minister Modi told media personnel during his aerial survey of the Siachen glacier. "The parliament is a temple of democracy and holds a special place in the hearts of those who believe in democratic ideals," he added. Expressing commiserations on behalf of people of India, Prime Minister Modi said, "Our condolences to people of Canada for loss of its soldiers. Our solidarity is with them at this difficult moment." India successfully test fires nuclear cruise missile 'Nirbhay'

New Delhi/ Chandipur, Oct 17 (ANI): India on Friday successfully test fired the indigenously developed nuclear capable sub-sonic cruise missile 'Nirbhay' at the Integrated Missile Test Range near Balasore in Odisha. Proving a host of technologies and bridging the critical gap in the country's arsenal, the missile was test fired from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur for a distance of about 1,000 km. Cruise missile 'Nirbhay' can strike targets more than 700 kms away. This was the second test firing attempt. The missile had failed in its debut attempt which was made last year. Security Expert US Rathore said that the test fire of the cruise missile 'Nirbhay' was very important for India. Black Money case: Congress targets Modi govt for its reluctance to disclose names

New Delhi, Oct 17 (ANI): The Congress on Friday targeted the Narendra Modi government for its double standards on Black money case. Citing bilateral double taxation avoidance treaties, the Centre today filed an application in the Supreme Court saying it cannot disclose the details of foreign accounts held abroad by Indians. The issue of black money has reverberated in public space for a very long time. The BJP when in the opposition repeatedly exchanged fire with the Congress for its inability to bring back black money stashed away in various tax havens, specially in Swiss banks. India successfully launches third navigation satellite

Sriharikota, Oct 16 (ANI): India witnessed the successful launch of Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C26) carrying the IRNSS-1C (Indian Navigation Satellite System) satellite, the third in a series of seven planned satellite launches from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday (October 16). The IRNSS-1C, is the third of the seven navigation satellites to put in place India's own navigation satellite system and has wide-ranging applications in terrestrial, aerial and marine navigation. Chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), K Radhakrishnan said that the injection of PSLV-C26 was very accurate. Vizag, Oct 14 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday chaired a high level meeting to take stock of situation in Andhra Pradesh after the Cyclone Hudhud hit the state. PM Modi lauded the meteorological department for making efficient use of technology in predicting the intensity of the cyclone and thereby mineralizing the effect of the same. He condoled the death of people and announced compensation for the victims. He said that ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh will be given to the next of kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to those injured from the PM relief fund. PM also assured all help from the central government to the state governments. Later, the prime minister also took aerial survey of the affected areas in Andhra Pradesh. Oct 14, 2014
