BSE closes points 339.90 down on Oct 10

New Delhi, Oct 10 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 339.90 points down to stand at 26,297.38. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 100.60 points down to stand at 7,859.95. JETAIRWAYS and ABAN were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 9.30% and 9.15% along with INFY and DEN with an increase of 6.49% and 6.01% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include KAILASH and UNITECH with a decrease of 10.93% and 6.33% along with JSWSTEEL and JINDAL STEEL with a decrease of 6.00% and 5.77% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is down 447.86 points at 17,396.24 while the banking sector is down 323.63 points at 17,694.23 and the reality sector is down 24.70 points at 1,592.08. Manipuri youth makes it to the Guinness Book of World Record

Imphal, Oct 02 (ANI): Twenty-six-year old weightlifter Maibam Itomba Meitei is on cloud nine these days. He recently entered the Guinness Book of World Records after completing the most number of consecutive Pinky pull ups. A resident of Naoremthong Samusang in Imphal West District, Itomba made his first attempt at achieving the record in 2012. During his second attempt in March this year at the SAI NERC complex, he managed to do 16 pull ups in 30 seconds using two fingers, breaking the previous world record of 16 pull ups in a minute by an American weight lifter. He received official confirmation in July. Itomba currently runs an iron and steel furniture work shop to earn a livelihood. The young weightlifter has received several state and national awards. He had trained intensively for the world record and hopes to continue achieving more such feats. Oct 2, 2014

At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 9.95 points down to stand at 7,958.90. STAR and AUROPHARMA were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 9.20% and 7.46% along with MUTHOOT FINANCE LTD. and BHUSHAN STEEL LTD. with an increase of 6.18% and 5.00% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include SUZLON and GMRINFRA with a decrease of 4.90% and 4.40% along with PFC and JINDAL STEEL and POWER LTD. with a decrease of 3.88% and 3.56% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is down 78.47 points at 17,757.23 while the banking sector is down 161.91 points at 17,697.97 and the reality sector is down 4.03 points at 1,624.46.
