New Delhi, March 3 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 134.59 points up to stand at 29,593.73. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 134.59 points up to stand at 8,996.25. TATA ELXSI LTD. and BHUSHAN STEEL LTD were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 20.00% and 15.30% along with IDBI and NATCO PHARMA LTD. with an increase of 10.33% and 9.99% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include EICHER MOTORS LTD. and COAL INDIA with a decrease of 4.46% and 3.98% along with MAHINDRA and MAHINDRA LTD and OBEROI REALTY LTD with a decrease of 3.48% and 2.79% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is down 171.82 points at 19,753.13 while the banking sector is down 61.57 points at 22,920.15 and the reality sector is down at 21.59 points at 1,794.95. New Delhi, March 3 (ANI): A new study has shed light on the beneficial effects of low-calorie diets on healthy aging The study suggested that Targeting mechanisms in the central nervous system that sense energy generated by nutrients might yield the beneficial effects of low-calorie diets on healthy aging without the need to alter food intake. The study suggested that manipulating the energy-sensing pathway could cause organisms to perceive their cells to be in a low-energy state, even if they are eating normally and energy levels are high. Drugs targeting the cells' energy-sensors by this way could potentially address age-related diseases, including cancer and neuro degeneration, and may offer an alternative to caloric restriction. Police seize heroin worth crores in Punjab

Amritsar, Feb 27 (ANI): Police in Punjab seized 50 kilograms of heroin worth 250 crore in international market and produced three accused in a court. Sleuths of counter intelligence wing of the police also seized 250 grams opium, a pistol and two motorcycles. The accused have been identified as Angrez Singh, Raja Singh and Joginder Singh, who are farmers. He added that the drugs were smuggled from Pakistan. Government says no need to panic even as swine flu toll hits 700 mark

New Delhi, Feb 20 (ANI): Even as India witnessed a steep rise in the number of swine flu cases in recent days, Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth said that there was no need to panic, adding that the government was taking measures to ensure proper treatment to patients. The H1N1 virus has claimed nearly 700 lives in the country and the number of people affected by it has crossed 10,000 mark, say reports. Seth said that delay in treatment was amounting to rising casualties. Seth said that he was in touch with officials to ensure consistent supply of medicines and other medical equipments to government hospitals. He has also directed drug controllers of various states to ensure availability of necessary vaccines, along with guidelines for usage and treatment protocol. Meanwhile, 40 new medical stores have been given license to sell swine flu drugs. Besides, two new labs have been set up to the existing three, to deal with the rush. Feb 20, 2015

At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 26.20 points up to stand at 8,895.30. JINDAL STEEL and FSL were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 28.59% and 8.04% along with HIND COPPER and ADANI POWER with an increase of 8.00% and 7.98% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include SUZLON and WELCORP with a decrease of 6.72% and 5.79% along with SKF INDIA and AURO PHARMA with a decrease of 4.98% and 4.58% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 6.70 points at 19,855.74 while the banking sector is down 110.30 points at 21,978.47 and the reality sector is up at 17.09 points at 1,748.04.
