Rahul Gandhi has accepted poll defeat by ruling out tie-up with Third Front: Gurudas Dasgupta

New Delhi, May 2 (ANI): Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Gurudas Dasgupta on Friday claimed that Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's reported preference to sit in the opposition rather than having a deal with the Third Front to form a government in order to prevent the BJP from doing so, is a clear indication that he has already accepted defeat in the 2014 general elections. Gandhi has reportedly ruled out extending the Congress Party's support to a Third Front, as he believes it is a recipe for a weak government and would instead prefer to sit in the opposition and overhaul his party. This comes in contrast to the stand taken by some of senior party leaders, including cabinet ministers of the UPA, who have indicated recently that the Congress Party would be willing to back the Third Front or take their help to cobble up a government in order to keep the BJP out. Shimla, May 02 (ANI): Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Friday said that the Cabinet has passed decision to appoint judge for commission on snoopgate. It will not be a violation of the model code of conduct. He also targeted BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi by saying that when as CM he was snooping on women, then what will happen to the women of the country if he becomes PM. May 2, 2014

Sanjaya Baru's book confirms Manmohan Singh was weak PM: TSR Subramanian

New Delhi, April 12 (ANI): After the Prime Minister's Office denounced Former adviser to PM, Sanjaya Baru's memoir, Former Cabinet Secretary of Government of India TSR Subramanian said that Baru's book just confirms that Manmohan Singh was a weak PM. He said that there was nothing new in the book, just that an already known fact is now confirmed by an insider. The memoir claims that Singh had been "defanged" by the Congress in his second term, and he seemed to surrender to party Chief Sonia Gandhi. The PM's office had later said that "it is an attempt to misuse a privileged position and access to high office to gain credibility and to apparently exploit it for commercial gain. The commentary smacks of fiction and coloured views of a former adviser." Apr 12, 2014
