New Delhi/ Kolkata, Jan 20 (ANI): The violence let loose against the Hindus this time, before and after the January 5 elections has been worst in recent times. Areas of Jessore, Dinajpur and Satkhira, Gaibandha, Rajshahi and Chittagong have been particularly affected. There are violent attacks on villages, business establishments and places of worship of Hindus. Young men are now sitting on night vigils, trying to protect the women and children. There have even been reports of women being raped. Indian Coast Guard progresses on Tamil fishermen issues

Chennai, Jan 20 (ANI): Inspector General of Indian Coast Guard, Satya Prakash Sharma briefed mediapersons regarding the issues of Tamil fishermen. Sharma said that though the Indian coast guard has arrested Sri Lankan fishermen for illegal fishing in Indian waters on several occasions, they are more often let off after serving their jail term or are exchanged in lieu of the Indian fishermen who are held captive by the Sri Lankan forces. AAP suspends 3 DJB officials, transfers 800 others

New Delhi, Jan 07 (ANI): The Delhi government headed by Arvind Kejriwal suspended 3 officials of the Delhi Jal Board and transferred around 800 others in a massive reshuffle aimed at improving efficiency and delivery. Chief water analyst Vinod Kumar, patwari Sunil Kumar and meter reader Atul Prakash were suspended following orders by Kejriwal. Education and PWD Minister Manish Sisodia said that the trio was seeking money to clear use of water for building construction and meter reading, as showed in a TV sting operation. Sisodia said that the cases will be filed against the three officials. The action came after the water distribution board's Chief Executive Officer Debashree Mukherjee was transferred on December 28.
