Panel Report suggests bare minimum standard of living: C Rangarajan

Chennai, July 07 (ANI): Talking about the panel report on poverty which raised the daily per capita expenditure to Rs 32 for the rural poor and to Rs 47 for the urban poor, PM Economic Advisory Council Chairman C Rangarajan said that it suggests bare minimum standard of living. He also said that this is 19% higher than poverty line fixed by Tendulkar report for rural areas, 40% for urban areas. The report also said that every three people out of 10 are poor in India. Politicos react on reports that BSP, CPI and NCP may lose national status

New Delhi, June 30 (ANI): Political leaders on Monday reacted on reports that BSP, NCP and CPI may lose national status as parties. BJP leader MJ Akbar said that this is a decision of the Election Commission and it is appropriate if the parties fail to gain public faith in form of votes. Congress leader Rashid Alvi stated that the parties which do not get the minimum national support naturally lose national status.
