New Delhi, July 20 (ANI): Ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra showcased his exquisite collection named 'Portraits' on day 5 of the ongoing India Couture Week in New Delhi. Malhotra's vintage embroidery collection was a blend of contemporary silhouettes with lot of gold and mirror work on his signature lehengas and floor-length anarkalis. Young stars Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur sashayed down the runway in opulent costumes designed by Manish. Speaking on the occasion both Alia and Aditya expressed their happiness to be Manish's showstoppers. Giving an edge was malhotra's three-ramp vintage set-up with a chandelier and stylish tea light holders along with music that touched everybody's souls. Poverty, child and maternal deaths still high in India, states UN Report

New Delhi/ Bhubaneswar, July 16 (ANI): A United Nations report on ___Millennium Development Goals___ stated that India continues to battle poverty, child and maternal deaths and sanitation, adding sustained efforts were required to cover the gap by 2015 deadline. Minority affairs minister, Najma Heptulla, while releasing the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDG) report on Wednesday said the four references in the report were not flattering. Many more goals are within reach by their 2015 target date, the report said, adding that if current trends continue, the world will surpass MDG targets on malaria, tuberculosis and access to HIV treatment.
