Panaji, Feb 07 (ANI): A science expo in Goa is drawing huge audiences with displays from various Indian scientific and military organisations, aiming not only to attract investors and buyers, but also to educate students. The Fourth Bharatiya Vigyan Sammelan and Expo, an initiative of the Goa government, Goa University and the largest people's science campaign in India, Vijnana Bharti, aims at bringing people together who have had achievements in the field of science and technology and disseminate their achievements to the masses. The theme for this year is 'Innovation in science and technology in service of mankind'. The Expo will see workshops and seminars on various topics along with exhibitions of various technologies under one roof. India hopes for positive outcome from Paris climate summit, says Javadekar

New Delhi, Feb 06 (ANI): Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar on Friday said that India is hoping for a positive outcome from Paris climate summit. Senior officials from almost 190 nations will meet from February 08-13 in Geneva to work on a draft UN deal to limit global warming. The agreement, built on national plans for curbs on rising world greenhouse gas emissions beyond 2020, is meant to be finalised at the Paris meeting in December. Tokyo, Feb 03 (ANI): In digital cameras, various precision components are used and assembled with high accuracy. The most important of all, the optical lens, exist as the central component. The glass material used for photographic lens is especially called "optical glass". It is the uniformed quality glass with optical function and high transparency. There are more than 200 variations of optical glasses designed for different optical properties such as "refractive index" and "dispersion index". Optical lens is typically produced through process of rough shearing, fine grinding, and polishing, from a lens material which is moulded to a predetermined size including the cut portion. HOYA, the top provider of optical glasses, has recently developed new optical glass material process called "NRP". NRP improves lens material shape accuracy, surface defects less than 1/3rd and the thickness variation accuracy has improved 5 times over the current company standard. It could significantly reduce the allowance of polishing lens and reduce the processing fluctuation. The raw material for optical glass varies by the type of lenses.
