High Court dismisses PIL challenging UPSC format

New Delhi, Aug 22 (ANI): The Delhi High Court on Thursday dismissed the PIL challenging the UPSC format in which the government made changes at a very short notice prior to the exam. Lawyer files case against Pakistan envoy and Kashmiri separatist leader

Uttar Pradesh/New Delhi, Aug 21 (ANI): A lawyer from Allahabad city filed sedition charges against Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit and senior Kashmiri separatist leader Shabir Ahmad Shah. India's Foreign Secretary, Sujatha Singh, was supposed to hold talks with her Pakistani counterpart Aziz Ahmad, but it was cancelled after Basit met separatist leaders on Monday (August 18). Lawyer Sushil Mishra justified his filing of a case against the two leaders stating they had breached the rules and regulations of the Indian Constitution and hence is a threat to the nation. SC rejects Asaram bail plea, constitutes medical board to examine health

New Delhi, Aug 19 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected Asaram’s interim bail plea which was filed in consideration of his ill health. Lawyer PC Solanki said that the interim bail filed by Asaram was rejected and the Supreme Court has given orders to constitute a medical board in order to examine his health and the report of which should be provided by September 23. Hearing of E-Rickshaw case adjourned till Aug 20

New Delhi, Aug 14 (ANI): The Delhi High Court on Thursday adjourned the case of e-rickshaw till Aug 20 which was to be heard today. Lawyer RK Kapoor said that the case was adjourned observing the absence of a judge who was present during the previous hearings of the case. SC issues notice to Centre and state on PIL seeking ban on cigarettes

New Delhi, Aug 14 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Thursday issued notice to the centre and the states on a PIL seeking a complete ban on the production of cigarettes and other tobacco products across the country. SC relaxes norms on Dahi Handi, allows participation of children above 12 years

New Delhi, Aug 14 (ANI): In a relief for the Dahi Handi mandals in Mumbai, the Supreme Court has relaxed the norms and restrictions put by the Bombay High Court on formation of the human pyramids. The court has also said that children below the age of 12 cannot participate in it. The Bombay High Court had banned the children below 18 years of age from participating in the formation of human pyramids during the festival and had put a height limit of 20 feet to the pyramids.
