India, Germany hold talks on environment, climate change

New Delhi, Jan 28 (ANI): Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar on Monday said that a bilateral meeting is being held between India and Germany aiming at strengthening the cooperation between the two nations on issues related to environment. Javadekar and German Environment Minister Barbara Hendricks held discussions on various issues related to environment including climate change and sustainable development. The meeting is being held in the wake of nations preparing national plans for cutting down their carbon emissions after 2020 annually. Dalai Lama says India important nation, can keep nuke weapon

Ghaziabad, Jan 28 (ANI): Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama said that although he did not support nuclear weapons but certain nations could keep it for safety for all. Dalai Lama was in Ghaziabad as the chief guest in a school function. When asked about the civil nuclear cooperation between India and the United States, which has been revived by US President Barack Obama's visit, the Dalai Lama said that he considered India as a huge and populous nation and hence it had a right to keep nuclear weapon. Sensex hits all time high, Market Expert says Obamas visit to India very productive

Shah said that Obama’s visit to India is very productive and that the sentiments have been positive as the market us trading above 100 points. Capital goods and infrastructure stocks are likely to be in action following India and the US moved ahead towards commercial nuclear cooperation. Security tightened at Siri Fort Auditorium as US President Obama all set to address gathering

New Delhi, Jan 27 (ANI): Security has been tightened outside Siri Fort Auditorium in Delhi as US President Barack Obama is set to end his three day India visit with a speech before a select gathering. Obama is to speak on future of the bilateral ties between America and India. Speaking on "India and America: The future we can build together", Obama will take questions from the audience of at least 2,000 people, including members of the strategic affairs community and students. During the programme, Obama is also expected to meet Noble laureate Kailash Satyarthi. The event is expected to start around 10:45 AM and likely to go on for 45 minutes. Meanwhile, Delhiites will have to face another day of incessant traffic jams, around south Delhi’s Siri Fort auditorium and the Ring Road around South Extension. President Mukherjee and PM Modi condoles passing away of Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah

New Delhi, Jan 23 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday condoled the passing away of Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah. In his condolence message on Twitter, President Mukherjee said, "Heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Saudi Arabia over the sad demise of King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. In King Abdullah's passing, Saudi Arabia had lost a beloved leader, India a close friend and world, an elder statesman. King Abdullah had genuine warmth and affection for India and our people, was personally committed to improving bilateral ties," he added.
