New Delhi, Dec 22 (ANI): Opposition parties, including the Trinamool Congress, Samajwadi Party and the Rashtriya Janata Dal staged a protest against the government outside the Parliament on Monday over the black money issue. Meanwhile, the TMC also staged a separate protest against Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in front of Mahatma Gandhi's statue in the Parliament. Politicos react as Jaitley firm on pushing coal and insurance bill despite political obstructionism

New Delhi, Dec 21 (ANI): Politicos reacted on Sunday after Finance Minister Arun Jaitley asserted that the government is "determined" to push through the Insurance Bill and the Coal Bill, despite political obstructionism. BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain said that the government is trying to pass many bills which are beneficial for the country but the opposition is obstructing by creating a ruckus in the parliament. Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that it is on the parliament to decide which bill has to be passed. JD (U) Ali Anwar said that his party will make the best efforts to not to let the bills pass. Govt tables GST Bill in Lok Sabha, Jaitley says bill may increase taxation

New Delhi, Dec 19 (ANI): The Central government on Friday tabled the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill in Lok Sabha. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that the government aims to bring the tax into effect from April 1, 2016. Government will compensate its state governments for revenue losses due to the new nationwide Goods and Service Tax. He added GST will also add to country's gross domestic product (GDP). The bill introduced by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley needs the support of two thirds of members of parliament as well as ratification by state legislatures which is expected to happen by the next session of parliament. Govt calendar will help take forward Clean India Mission: Arun Jaitley

New Delhi, Dec 17 (ANI): Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday unveiled Indian government's calendar for the year 2015, which is a convergence of two projects - Clean India Mission and Digital India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Clean India Mission in October with an aim to modernize sanitation within five years. At the launch programme in New Delhi, Jaitley was accompanied by Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Broadcasting Secretary Bimal Julka. A digital version of the calendar was also launched. Jaitley said the digital calendar will promote Digital India, a government's initiative to integrate the departments and the people across the country to ensure effective governance reducing paperwork. BJP Parliamentary meet ends, PM asks ministers to maintain 'good governance'

New Delhi, Dec 16 (ANI): After BJP Parliamentary meet ended on Tuesday, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the party discussed on 'good governance day' among many other issues. Naqvi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Arun Jaitely, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and other senior leaders were present at the event. He went on to say that the party discussed on five way programme to be carried on for 'good governance day' on December 25. Naqvi also said that the PM has asked the ministers to maintain good governance. The prime minister also saluted the martyred army personnel on 'Vijay Diwas'. Arun Jaitley says BJP can change Kashmir's fate
