New Delhi, Sep 24 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Wednesday cancelled all the coal block allocations which it had earlier declared illegal leaving 4 which entirely belong to the Central government. The lawyer said that Court has given its final decision regarding coal allocations where it has cancelled all the allocations except four. The court, which examined the allocation of 218 blocks in pre-auction era till 2010, had held that they were done in an illegal manner by an “ad-hoc and casual” approach “without application of mind”. Woman Lawyer consumes poison in Supreme Court premises

New Delhi, Sep 22 (ANI): A woman lawyer allegedly consumed poison in the Supreme Court premises on Monday. The woman claimed that she had been gang raped in November 2013 and no action was taken so far in the matter. Commenting on the incident Lawyer Kamini Jaiswal said it is a bad reflection of the system and she is glad that the Court has taken cognizance of the situation. SC asks SPP to assist in Ranjit Sinha case with regard to CPIL's refusal to name whistleblower

New Delhi, Sep 22 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Monday asked Anand Grover, special public prosecutor in the 2G spectrum allocation case, to assist it after Centre for Public Interest Litigation (CPIL) refused naming the whistleblower who had furnished the guest book at the residence of CBI Chief Ranjit Sinha. Earlier, Prashant Bhushan had urged the SC to withdraw order disclosing whistleblower's name in the case. Politicos react as CBI questions Chidambaram's wife in Saradha scam case

New Delhi, Sept 22 (ANI): Politicos from rival parties of Congress stated on Monday that law should take its own course as former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram's wife, Nalini Chidamabaram, was examined over the weekend by the CBI in connection with the alleged multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam. According to sources, Saradha Chairman Sudipta Sen, at present in jail, had mentioned about hiring Nalini Chidambaram as a lawyer at the request of Manoranjana Sinh, the estranged wife of Congress leader Mantang Sinh.
