Chemical freight train plunges into Chile river after bridge collapses

A freight train has plunged into the Tolten river, Chile, after a bridge dating back to 1898 collapsed. Pitrufquen Mayor Humberto Catalan said around 197 feet of the iron bridge had been destroyed, and a Chilean TV station reported that six carriages carrying sodium hydroxide, chlorate and oil had fallen into the river. It is unclear if the chemicals have leaked into the water. Aug 19, 2016
