Congress' Captain Amarinder Singh to meet Sushma Swaraj to talk about abducted workers in Iraq

Amritsar, Dec 13 (ANI): Former Punjab Chief Minister and Congress leader Captain Amarinder Singh said on Saturday that he would meet India's Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj to seek status report on bringing back abducted workers from Iraq. Singh met relatives of missing construction workers in Amritsar and assured them of pursuing the central government on this issue. Meanwhile, relative of another abducted worker, Manish, said even after meeting Swaraj several times, there were only assurances. Swaraj had said last month that search for missing Indian workers in war-torn Iraq was still on, assuring families that India would leave no stone unturned to find their loved ones. Dec 13, 2014

Following close behind, ‘Boyhood’, ‘The Imitation Game’ & ‘The Theory of Everything’ with three nominations each. Jennifer Aniston & Reese Witherspoon each received recognition along with Benedict Cumberbatch who was a double nominee for TV’s ‘Sherlock: His Last Vow’ and for ‘The Imitation Game’. On the small screen, ‘Modern Family’ garnered four nods with ‘Boardwalk Empire,’ ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘Homeland’ & ‘House of Cards’ following with three apiece. The awards will be handed out January 25th. Award season continues to take shape with the announcement of the 2015 Golden Globe nominations. Search for missing Indians in war torn Iraq still on, will leave no stones unturned: Sushma Swaraj

New Delhi, Dec 06 (ANI): Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj said that search for missing Indian workers in war-torn Iraq was still on, and also assured families of victims that India will leave no stone unturned to find their loved ones. Swaraj had told parliament on November 28 that 39 abducted construction workers in Iraq were alive, on the basis of information from six of the sources, thus contradicting eyewitness' account which said that they were shot dead. Most of the abducted workers belong to Punjab. Dec 6, 2014
