Supreme Court slams Centre over Ganga cleaning project

New Delhi, Oct 15 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Wednesday slammed the Centre over the Ganga cleaning project and questioned about its vision for the project. During the hearing of the case, the apex court asked the Centre whether it has a vision which is similar to that of Delhi Metro former chairman E Sreedharan. All five accused in Dhaula Kuan gangrape case held guilty by Delhi session court

New Delhi, Oct 14 (ANI): A Delhi Session Court on Tuesday convicted all five accused in 2010 abduction and gangrape case in Dhaula Kuan. Lawyer in the case said that the court has held guilty all the accused and that the quantum of punishment will be announced on 17th October. Additional Sessions Judge Virender Bhat had earlier deferred the verdict saying the order was not prepared. Shamshad alias Khutkan, Usman alias Kale, Shahid alias Chhota Billi, Iqbal alias Bada Billi and Kamruddin were being tried for the abduction and gangrape of a 30-year-old call centre executive in Dhaula Kuan area of south Delhi. SC adjourns Delhi Govt formation matter till Oct 28

New Delhi, Oct 10 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Friday adjourned the matter of government formation in Delhi till October 28. The lawyer said that the Central Government informed the Supreme Court that the matter is still pending for the President's consideration. SC adjourns Aircel Maxis deal case to Thursday asks CBI lawyer to give answer on same

New Delhi, Oct 10 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Friday adjourned the hearing on Aircel-Maxis deal case to Thursday and asked the CBI lawyer KK Venugopal to take notice and answer on the same day. Petitioner in the case, Subramanian Swamy said that Maxis Company owns 100 percent of the Aircel company, which is illegal according to Indian law. He said that the sale was cleared by FIPB and approved by P Chidambaram, thereby qualifying as an illegality by him and therefore an investigation is required. Oct 10, 2014
