Kolkata, Jan 16 (ANI): A court on Friday sent six men accused of gang raping a 23-year-old Japanese student to jail till January 30. The six accused, Mohammad Sabir, Washim Khan, Sahid Iqbal, Mohammad Wasim, Javed Khan and Sajid Khan, were produced before a court in Kolkata. Kolkata police busted a racket of tour guides, who duped Japanese students and tourists. Three tour guides lured a Japanese student and took her to Gaya city in Bihar, where they were joined by three more people, and then gang-raped her and looted her of rupees 25,000. The Japanese tourist alleged that she was raped on November 23, 2014 and a complaint was filed on November 26 in Kolkata. Jan 16, 2015

Paris, Jan 13 (ANI): Up to 3 million copies of Charlie Hebdo could hit newsstands this week, dwarfing its usual print run of 60,000 in response to soaring demand for the first edition of the satirical weekly since last week's deadly attacks by Islamist militants. The French satirical magazine will come back with a bang defying the attackers by putting a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammed on its cover, as the government on Monday announced the deployment of 10,000 soldiers to boost security. Liberation newspaper, now temporarily housing Charlie Hebdo operations, revealed the front page of "survivors' issue" via Twitter late on Monday as the edition is due to be out by Wednesday. India, Bangladesh officials meet to discuss border issues

Agartala, Jan 10 (ANI): A two-day meet between Indian and Bangladeshi delegates began on Friday in Tripura, to discuss issues related to trans-border crimes, insurgent movements, human trafficking, narcotics and smuggling. Agartala city is hosting a 30-member delegation from Bangladesh for the India-Bangladesh Joint Border Conference. Personnel from India's paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) and Bangladesh's Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) were also in attendance at the district magistrate-level meet.
