New Delhi, July 3 (ANI): The economic affairs committee of the Indian cabinet decided to bring onions and potatoes under the essential commodities act in order to curb the prices of these two essential vegetables on the nation's menu. Law minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad held a cabinet briefing to explain the government's decision of including onions and potatoes under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, for one year. Prasad said that the decision will prevent hoarding as it will place an upper limit on holding stock by wholesale traders and others. Chandrababu Naidu met NDA ministers over AP developmental issues

New Delhi, June 27 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, met cabinet ministers to discuss state-related issues. Earlier, Naidu also met Power Minister Piyush Goyal over assistance for uninterrupted power supply at reasonable rates. Goyal said that the central government wanted to see Andhra Pradesh as a state model in terms of power and ensured all round development of the state. At least 12 killed in blast at GAIL pipeline in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh, June 27 (ANI): At least 12 people were killed and 18 others injured after an explosion at a gas pipeline at the site of the state-owned Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) in Andhra Pradesh. The blast took place at 5:30 AM due to a gas leak in a pipeline near a refinery at Nagaram, around 560 km from Hyderabad. A massive fire broke out after the blast. Eight fire engines were rushed to the spot and the fire has been brought under control, officials said. The gas supply line has been cut off. Meanwhile, Prime Minister expressed condolences and tweeted, "My thoughts with the families of those who lost their lives in the GAIL Pipeline fire in AP. Prayers with the injured." He also said, "I have spoken to the Petroleum Minister, Cabinet Secretary and GAIL Chairman and asked them to ensure immediate relief at the accident site."According to official sources, those who suffered burns are being shifted to Amalapuram and Kakinada hospitals.
