Indian diaspora in Australia keenly awaits Modi's arrival

Sydney, Nov 13 (ANI): The near 300,000 strong Indian diaspora in Australia is eagerly awaiting the arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Preparations are on in full swing for Modi's address in Sydney's Allphones Arena on Monday (November 17). Australian Committee Foundation organizer Balesh Dhankar, said within three days of announcing Modi's address, 21,000 registrations were received whereas the Allphones Arena has a capacity of only 16, 664. Meanwhile, an Indian student in Australia, Aditya Dubey, said Modi's popularity internationally made him want to attend this address. A non resident Indian in Sydney, Jasvinder Ramana, said Modi has become a favourite among the youngsters. New Delhi, Nov 11 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid tribute to Acharya Jivatram Bhagwandas Kripalani as well as freedom fighter Maulana Abul Kalam Azad on their birth anniversary. Modi tweeted, "Scholar, freedom fighter and a man who devoted his life towards nation building, I salute Maulana Abul Kalam Azad on his birth anniversary". Azad was one of the tallest national leaders of his time and promoted the cause of Hindu Muslim unity as well as secularism and socialism. Chennai, Nov 7 (ANI): Veteran Actor Kamal Haasan, took up 'Clean India' mission on his 60th birthday on Friday, swept street and picked up garbage in Tamil Nadu. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the nationwide cleanliness mission on October 02 to raise awareness of cleanliness and better sanitation among its citizens under the banner of 'Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan', or Clean India Campaign. Haasan took up cleaning of Madhambakkam Lake in Chennai.
