M Karunanidhi celebrates his 91st birthday with DMK leaders

Chennai, June 03 (ANI): Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Chief M Karunanidhi celebrated his 91st birthday on Tuesday in Chennai city of Tamil Nadu. Cadres of the regional party held a grand bash at his residence, where thousands of supporters gathered to be a part of his birthday celebrations, by decorating it with his posters. DMK General Secretary Anbazhagan along with party cadres honoured the party chief with a shawl. Indian actress Khushboo was ecstatic on the occasion and wished a long life for the party chief. People demand hanging punishment for accused in Badaun rape case

Allahabad/New Delhi, June 02 (ANI): People in northern India took to streets protesting against the Badaun rape and murder case demanding for a similar fate for the accused. Supporters of the BJP and protesters in Allahabad hanged effigies of accused to a tree, saying the accused should be hanged in the same manner. Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju, said existing laws should be implemented properly. Local police said a post-mortem confirmed that the girls, from the Dalit community, had been raped and died from the hanging. Tamilians protest against Modi's invitation to Sri Lankan President for inauguration

Chennai/ New Delhi, May 25 (ANI): Tamilians took to streets against invitation to Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa by the Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi for his swearing-in ceremony. Protesters say the move has hurt the sentiments of people as well as victims of alleged war crimes. Supporters of May 17 Movement staged a protest on Sunday in Chennai against Rajapaksa who will be attending Modi's oath ceremony on Monday. Students and cadres expressed their dissatisfaction and demanded that India should move a resolution against Sri Lanka at United Nations Human Rights Council for its alleged war crimes against Lankan Tamils.
