On 10 October Louis Therouxs debut film My Scientology had its general release in the UK. The documentary maker has had a long running fascination with the subject, and the film takes an in-depth and controversial look at the religion. Scientology is a relatively new religion founded by Ron Hubbard in 1954. The film is controversial as often the subject is avoided for fear of retribution by Scientologys followers. Iraqi forces advance against Islamic State in Mosul offensive

As part of the Iraqi governments offensive on Mosul, Iraqi Kurdish military forces have started to clear several villages held by Islamic State. Some 30,000 Iraqi government forces, Kurdish Peshmerga militia and Sunni tribal fighters are expected to take part in the offence to drive up to 8,000 Islamic State militants out of Mosul. Nearly 200 countries have agreed to limit the use of hydrofluorocarbons (HFC).This type of greenhouse gas is used in refrigerators and air conditioners.Countries are divided into three groups with different deadlines to reduce the use of HFC.These gasses are 10,000 times more powerful than carbon dioxide.Europe and the US committed to a reduction of 10% by 2019 and 85% by 2036.
