Arun Jaitley adopts village under 'Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana' in Gujarat

Vadodara, Jan 11 (ANI): Finance Minister Arun Jaitley adopted a village in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home state of Gujarat on Sunday as part of 'Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana'. The 'adopt-a-village' scheme aims to provide rural India with access to basic amenities and opportunities. On Sunday, while adopting Karnali village in Vadodara city, Jaitley interacted with the villagers and offered his prayers at village's ancient 'Kuber Bhandari' temple, which is visited by large number of devotees everyday. Security arrangements and traffic management in place ahead of PM Modi's 'Abhinandan Rally'

New Delhi, Jan 10 (ANI): Security was tightened around the Ramlila Ground on Saturday in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally at the venue in the national capital. The Delhi Traffic Police have also made elaborate arrangements to ensure the smooth movement of traffic. Modi is to address "Abhinandan Rally" which will be attended by around 1 lakh people. PM will formally kick off BJP's campaign for the upcoming Delhi Assembly polls on Saturday at the mega rally. Top leaders including BJP president Amit Shah, Union ministers Arun Jaitely, M Venkaiah Naidu and Piyush Goyal will attend the rally. Besides, chief ministers of Haryana, Jharkhand and Maharashtra will share the dais with the prime minister. The traffic police has advised commuters going to New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway Station and ISBT to start early with sufficient time in hand for absorbing possible delays in the routes. Social sector looks for higher budget allocation in skill building

New Delhi, Jan 09 (ANI): Representatives from India’s social sector sought higher budget allocation in skill building and public procurement, in pre-budget talks with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. Jaitley also held pre-budget meetings with representatives from Indian industry, earlier this week. Social sector representatives hoped that the government would focus on skill building so that employment would see a rise and people could sustain their jobs. She said they also spoke on focussing on skill development for the employment of youth, especially from socially excluded communities. The representatives also gave recommendations on public procurement for which there is no legislation or policy. The budget for the fiscal year 2015-2016 will be out by the end of February.
