Gandhi further credited Nehru with laying the foundation for India's economic emergence and said he recognised the public sector as a potent symbol of change and modernisation. President attends religious ceremony in Mathura

Mathura, Nov 16 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee, on Sunday attended a religious ceremony at an under-construction temple dedicated to Lord Krishna in holy town of Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh. The 'Chandrodaya' temple, which will showcase early life of Lord Krishna, will be an architectural marvel. The foundation stone for the temple was laid on March 16 this year. President Mukherjee said India is one of the oldest and culturally rich civilizations in the world. Reportedly, the temple project is expected to get over in next five years and funds have been collected from various corporate houses and devotees of Lord Krishna. Meanwhile, Mukherjee also added that there could be no better way of doing this than spreading the Bhagvad Gita's message of universal love and humanity. Roadshow promotes tourism between India, Bangladesh

Agartala, Nov 16 (ANI): A four-day road show, 'Maitri Tourism 2014', kicked off in Agartala to promote tourism between India and Bangladesh. The event is being organised by Bangladesh Foundation for Tourism Development and Bangladesh Inbound Tour Operators Association in collaboration with Tripura Tourism Development Forum and Tripura Tourism Development Corporation. A seminar took place to discuss the sub-regional tourism circuit linking India's northeast, Bangladesh and Myanmar, and the land routes linking the capital cities of Dhaka and Agartala. A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) Secretary Subhas Das said tourism is among the most flourishing sectors in the world and plays a significant role in generating employment. No security anxiety with Bangladesh, says former Indian envoy

Dhaka/ New York, Nov 15 (ANI): Former Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Muchkund Dubey has said that the improved relation between both the neighbouring countries has resolved the issue of security anxiety. Dubey was addressing a gathering at the Bangladesh High Commissioners’ Summit held in Dhaka organized by University of Dhaka and the India-Bangladesh Foundation on Friday. Foreign Minister of Bangladesh, Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali, was the chief guest who inaugurated the event. Meanwhile, Ali, said talks with his Indian counterpart, Sushma Swaraj, in June on key bilateral issues, including Land Boundary Agreement and proposed Teesta river water sharing deal, during which the Indian side also raised the matter of illegal immigration, proved to be fruitful.
