CBI takes charge of Badaun rape case, probe begins

New Delhi, June 12 (ANI): The CBI has filed an FIR and taken over the probe in Badaun rape case where two Dalit girls were found hanging from a tree in their village. CBI Director Ranjit Sinha said that Government of India has handed over the case to CBI and it will soon begin probe. Meanwhile, CBI Spokesperson Kanchan Prasad stated that an FIR has been filed in the case and a team of 20 officials will leave for Badaun on Friday to begin investigations. Jun 12, 2014

Greenpeace Foundation rejects Intelligence Bureau's allegations

New Delhi, June 11 (ANI): The Greenpeace Foundation on Wednesday refuted allegations of negatively impacting the economic growth of the country, leveled by the Intelligence Bureau (IB) in its report submitted to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). Bharti Sinha, Communications Director of Greenpeace Foundation, said that Greenpeace has been active in India for the past ten years. It has supported and fought for the people whose voices have been subdued. TPDDL in Delhi claims to meet cent percent electricity demand

New Delhi, June 11 (ANI): Power distribution company in Delhi, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) has claimed to have met 100 percent electricity demands in its jurisdiction despite reports of prolonged power cuts in the city during scorching summer heat. TPDDL, which supplies power to nearly 30 percent of residents in north and northeast Delhi, said there was no load shedding. Earlier on Tuesday, Junior Power Minister Piyush Goyal blamed previous Congress party-led government in the city and said that dilapidated power grids could not cope with extra electricity needed to meet demand, leading to more power cuts.
