Bangladeshi war crimes tribunal observes founder's 20th death anniversary

Dhaka, June 27 (ANI): Supporters of a Bangladeshi war crimes tribunal commemorated the 20th death anniversary of its founder, Jahanara Imam, in Dhaka on June 26. Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee was founded by Imam in 1973. The committee calls for the trial of people who committed crimes against humanity in the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War, in collaboration with the Pakistani forces. The tribunals have so far handed down 10 verdicts, including eight death sentences and two life imprisonments.

Porto Alegre, June 26 (ANI): Argentine soccer fans celebrated their national team's 3-2 victory over Nigeria in the World Cup Group F match. Lionel Messi scored twice to inspire Argentina to a the thrilling win over Nigeria which clinched them the top spot in group and sent home an army of Sky Blue supporters with smiles on their faces. One Argentina supporter who calls himself Francis, attracted lots of attention dressed as the Pope. The few Nigerian fans in the crowd also left happy because their team advanced to the knockout phase thanks to Bosnia's 3-1 win over Iran. Congress supporters stage sit-in over Vyapam scam in Bhopal

Bhopal, June 26 (ANI): Congress supporters staged a sit-in protest accusing leaders of the ruling BJP being involved in the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board or Vyapam scam. Congress workers demanded a probe to be conducted by the CBI on the scam. Meanwhile, student body, National Student's Union of India also protested against the scam. Congress leader Satyadev Katare also accused Madhya Pradesh Chief Shivraj Singh Chouhan of being involved in the employment scam. He showed documents of the Public Service Commission Examinations to prove that Chouhan's niece was appointed as Deputy Collector by illegal means and also said that the former had changed rules to destroy evidence of irregularities.
