SC asks BCCI to explain amendment to rule 6.2.4, threatens to strike it off

New Delhi, Dec 17 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Tuesday talked tough on amendment. It asked the BCCI to explain the importance of the amendment made to rule 6.2.4 that permits BCCI officials to have stakes in the IPL. New Delhi/ Kolkata, Dec 13 (ANI): Political leaders mounted pressure on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday, a day after one of her senior ministers Madan Mitra was arrested by the CBI in the multi-million dollar Saradha scam. Mitra is the third senior member of Banerjee's regional Trinamool Congress who has been arrested by CBI for their involvement in the scam. Mumbai, Dec 13 (ANI): Bollywood love epic 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge', the longest running film in India's showbiz city Mumbai, completed 1000 glorious weeks on Friday. The film, starring Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan in the lead paired opposite actress Kajol, had made movie buffs go crazy by portraying fairytale romance and confronting traditional ideologies. The movie was released in October 1995. The historic moment of Indian cinema was celebrated in Maratha Mandir where the movie has been running since its release. The stars also released a book based on their movie. Thanking fans and makers of the film, SRK said that he had no idea that it would be such a huge success. SC pressurised to not make IPL spot fixing case probe report public: Aditya Verma

New Delhi, Dec 10 (ANI): Efforts are being made to not let the investigation report in the IPL spot fixing scam surface in public, said petitioner Aditya Verma in New Delhi. Verma said he is surprised at the pressure being created by BCCI to brush the matter under the carpet in interest of its former chief. Meanwhile, Supreme Court said that only an independent body can take up the case against Gurunath Meiyappan, the son-in-law of suspended BCCI president Narayanaswami Srinivasan, in the IPL scam. The court rejected all options given by BCCI and Srinivasan in the investigation. A report prepared by BB Mishra, key member of the panel, was submitted to the Supreme Court but the contents of his findings have not been made public. Meanwhile, Justice Mudgal said they have submitted their report to the court for the review and will act as per court's directions. Dec 10, 2014
