Yasin Malik's supporters protest his arrest by police in Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 30 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader Yasin Malik's supporters protested against their leader's arrest on Thursday. Malik was reportedly leading a campaign to boycott assembly elections scheduled to be held in Jammu and Kashmir next month, for which he was taken into preventive custody today.The supporters even pelted stones at the police in the city's Maisuma area, after which the police resorted to firing of tear gas shells and a baton charge to disperse the mob.Malik was previously arrested earlier this month, ahead of Eid prayers at Abi Guzar near Lal Chowk while he was preparing to hold an anti-election protest. Burdwan / New Delhi, Oct 24 (ANI): The Director General (DG) of National Investigation Agency (NIA), Sharad Kumar, on Friday (October 24) visited blast sites in Burdwan to monitor the probe. The explosions in Burdwan district in West Bengal on October 02 had left two suspected militants dead, while the city court has sent three accused in police custody till October 22. Later, two women were also arrested in connection with the blast on October 05. The involvement of militant outfits like Lashkar-e-Toiba and Harkat-ul Jihad al-Islami (Bangladesh-based) are being suspected in the case as a large number of watch dials, SIM cards, and other tools required to make improvised explosive devices were found in the house.
