PM Modi pays tribute to martyrs at 'Amar Jawan Jyoti' on Republic Day

New Delhi, Jan 26 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid tribute at the 'Amar Jawan Jyoti', the memorial dedicated to martyrs on the 66th Republic Day in the national capital. Modi was accompanied by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar who received him at the memorial. The prime minister also laid wreath at the Amar Jawan Jyoti and maintained two minutes of silence to pray for the martyrs. He was also accompanied by three heads of service, that is, Army Chief Dalbir Singh Suhag, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral R K Dhowan. PM Modi also signed the record book at the India Gate. Modi will now move on to Rajpath for the Republic Day celebrations with US President Barack Obama as the chief guest. Jan 26, 2015

Police officials review security measures ahead of US President Obama's visit to Taj Mahal

Agra, Jan 21 (ANI): A meeting of top police officials was held in Agra city of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday to discuss the security measures to be put in place ahead of the visit of US President Barack Obama. The city of historic Taj Mahal, Agra, is set to become a fortress ahead of Obama's visit on January 27. The Taj Mahal will be closed to visitors on that day. Multi-tier security arrangements are in place for US President's visit. Inspector General (IG), Agra, Sunil Gupta said that an in-depth meeting review of the security arrangements was conducted. Apart from the state police force, Agra has also asked for 10 companies of paramilitary forces from the central government. Jan 21, 2015
