Speaker Sumitra Mahajan remains evasive on allegations of being partial

New Delhi, July 22 (ANI): Lok Sabha Speaker, Sumitra Mahajan, on Tuesday remained evasive on Congress party_s allegations of being biased in connection with leader of opposition (LoP) post. As per Indian laws, the main opposition party in the house must have at least ten percent seats for the Leader of Opposition post. Congress has only 44 lawmakers in a 543-member house. In an effort to strengthen its claim, the Congress party, has sent a letter to Mahajan claiming that it has more than 60 lawmakers in the house with its pre-poll allies. Mahajan acknowledged that she has received letter from Congress in this regard. Senior Congress leader, Amarinder Singh, had alleged that the Speaker is hand-in glove with the government. Vaidik, on Sunday, said he met Saeed on July 02 in Lahore city of Pakistan.
