Doctor involved in sterilization surgeries in Bilaspur taken into custody

Bilaspur/ Raipur, Nov 13 (ANI): Doctor RK Gupta, who conducted sterilization surgeries on 85 women in Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur District, has been taken into custody. Gupta had been suspended on Tuesday on the orders of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh after the incident came to light. Earlier it was reported that the death toll in the sterilization tragedy rose to 13 with the death of another woman. More than 50 women, who were left in a critical state after undergoing sterilization operations, are undergoing treatment at four different hospitals in Bilaspur. A team of doctors from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is in Bilaspur to attend to critical patients. HC upset after Haryana police fail to produce Rampal

Chandigarh, Nov 10 (ANI): The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday pulled up Haryana police after they failed to produce Rampal, citing resistance by his followers. Public prosecutor Anupam Gupta said that the Court has expressed severe displeasure towards state government for failing to produce Rampal in the court. He added that the Court has directed the Registrar General to issue fresh non-bailable warrant of arrest of Rampal. Maoists gun down seven people in Jharkhand ahead of assembly polls

Ranchi, Nov 04 (ANI): Maoists gunned down seven people in poll-bound Jharkhand, said a senior police officer. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Anurag Gupta said ultra belonged to banned People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI). Gupta refused to confirm identity of the deceased.
