Floriculture becomes a profitable business option in Northeast

Manipur, Jan 18 (ANI): Gurumayum Nanao Sharma has turned his hobby in gardening to a successful profession. Few years ago, he started 'Gaminash Nursery' in a land near his home at Bamon leikai in Manipur. Today, he nurtures a variety of indigenous and non-indigenous varieties of flowers and prepares saplings of trees and fruits along with providing garden planning and designing services. In order to expand his business and provide jobs to unemployed youth in the state, he has recently procured two acres of land which he wanted to develop as a flower farm. Many people in the Northeast are adopting floriculture as an alternate farming. They get encouragement by participating at various exhibitions and flower shows. Jan 18, 2015

Foggy morning in Delhi: road traffic, train and flight schedules affected

New Delhi, Jan 17 (ANI): Delhi woke up to another foggy morning on Saturday disrupting normal life. Apart from road traffic, 68 flights were delayed and six cancelled. The fog also affected the movement of trains with more than 50 delayed and eight rescheduled. The minimum temperature early on Saturday morning was recorded at 8.4 degrees Celsius.
