New Delhi, Oct 30 (ANI): Congress leader Manish Tewari on Thursday dubbed the government's move to transfer Finance Secretary Arvind Mayaram within a fortnight as an exalted example of administrative tyranny, and said that it is a means to terrify officers. Mayaram, who has been transferred yet again, will now join the Ministry of Minority Affairs, and not the Ministry of Tourism. Chandigarh, Oct 27 (ANI): Newly sworn-in Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar, on Monday (October 27), chaired his first cabinet meeting and said all plans and agendas of previous government led by Congress party will be reviewed. Khattar, 60, who is a former member of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), took oath as the 10th state chief of Haryana on October 26, after the BJP won the state polls with a clear mandate last week. BJP won 47 of 90 seats in Haryana. During a news briefing in Chandigarh, Khattar said that policies beneficial for people will only be continued. He added that a review did not mean total scrapping of previous plans. New Delhi, Oct 26 (ANI): Members of Aam Aadmi Sena protested outside the residence of Arun Jaitley on Sunday urging him to disclose the names of foreign bank account holders. Aam Aadmi Sena leader Shamsher Singh said that the money belongs the people and hence the government must reveal the name of the account holders. The BJP had set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to unearth "black money", after its first cabinet meeting. However, the government later claimed that not all information on the matter should be disclosed under double taxation avoidance agreement or DTAT. Union Cabinet passes ordinance to auction coal blocks

New Delhi, Oct 21 (ANI): The Union Cabinet on Monday passed an ordinance to auction the non-operating coal blocks, which were cancelled by the Supreme Court last month. The ordinance has been sent to President Pranab Mukherjee for his final approval. The cabinet also announced that Coal India's interests will be fully protected and only Indian companies will be allowed to participate in the bidding for the coal blocks. The government also moved to open up its coal industry to commercial mining while protecting the requirements of state-run Coal India, signalling the most serious shift in 42 years toward allowing private players' full participation in coal mining. The mines would also be allotted to public sector units such as the National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC), which engages in electricity generation and allied activities. Oct 21, 2014
